QUESTION ONE


Codes and Conventions of a Soap Opera.....
-Continuous storylines that carry on from one episode to the next
-Stereotypical character roles e.g.: Bimbo, villain, loveable rogue etc
-Camera shots such as close ups, establishing shots, two shots
-Regional stereotypes
-Realistic storylines that play on real life issues e.g.: divorce, weddings, abuse,  addictions death etc
-Parallel narratives
-Costumes reflection region
-Conflict

-More than one feature to entice audience (lots for your money)
-Masthead which creates brand identity (doesn’t always have to be fully visible)
-Accent colour to highlight key features
